Junior Falcons
Phil Belmont Named U14 Half Season Head Coach

We are thrilled to announce Phil Belmont as the U14 Half-Season Head Coach!

Coach Phil joins the Junior Falcons bringing an elite development background grounded in high-level playing experience, proven coaching success, and a career defined by leadership and accountability.

A four-year varsity starting goaltender at Marshfield High School, Phil helped lead the Rams to three MIAA State Tournament appearances and earned Atlantic Coast League All-Star honors as a senior. He continued his athletic career at Curry College, where he competed in both hockey and baseball for the Colonels.

Following college, Phil enlisted in the United States Army in response to the September 11th terrorist attacks. He served as a combat medic with the 101st Airborne Division, completing two combat deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. After five years of honorable service, he returned home with a disciplined, detail-oriented mindset that continues to shape his coaching philosophy.

Phil went on to serve as a uniformed police officer and SWAT Team medic in a large municipality. During his law enforcement career, he participated in multiple high-risk operations and was credited with saving the life of a fellow officer. He later transitioned into his current role within the Inspector General community, continuing a career marked by leadership and performance under pressure.

On the ice, Coach Phil has coached athletes at every level from Mites through varsity high school. For the past five seasons, he has volunteered as a varsity high school hockey coach, leading the program’s Department of Goaltending Excellence and working with both boys’ and girls’ teams. Goaltenders developed under his instruction have earned All-Conference honors and Massachusetts State Hockey Coaches Association All-Star selections.

Coach Phil’s recruiting-focused development model is centered on preparing athletes for the demands of high school hockey and beyond. Players are trained in varsity-level structure, habits, and decision-making aligned with current high school trends. The goal is simple and uncompromising: equip every athlete with the tools, confidence, and competitive edge required to earn—and retain—a varsity roster spot upon entering high school.
