Steve Tobio

Steve Tobio resides in Waltham, Massachusetts, with his wife, Rachael, and their three daughters, Skyla, Ivy, and Maya. Professionally, he serves as Vice President of Product in the FinTech space at Dynamo Software, based in Watertown.

Steve enjoyed an outstanding collegiate hockey career as a defenseman for the Bentley Falcons, joining the program during its inaugural transition to NCAA Division I in the MAAC Hockey League (now Atlantic Hockey). He quickly emerged as one of the premier blue liners in college hockey, recording 120 career points (35 goals, 85 assists) in 120 games—a total that still ranks first among defensemen and 11th overall in Bentley program history. Remarkably, he led the team in scoring as both a junior and senior (2001: 5–20–25; 2002: 14–19–33).

His accolades include being named MAAC Defensive Player of the Year twice (co-winner in 2000, winner in 2002) and earning All-MAAC honors three times, including First Team selections in 2000 and 2002. A two-year team captain, Steve continues to hold Bentley’s Division I records for goals in a season (14) and career goals (26) by a defenseman. In recognition of his achievements, he was inducted into the Bentley Athletics Hall of Fame in 2015.

For the past four years, Steve has dedicated himself to coaching within Waltham Youth Hockey, focusing on developing strong fundamentals, confidence, and a genuine love for the game. He is excited to lead the Jr. Falcons U10 Girls team for the 2026–27 season and is committed to fostering a positive, team-first environment where players feel supported, work hard, and have fun.
