2019 Elite

Tony Brennan

We are thrilled to announce Tony Brennan as the 2019 Elite Head Coach!

Tony resides in Winchester with his wife, Jennie, and their two sons, Cash and Jett. Professionally, he works as a Sales Executive in Commercial Real Estate technology, bringing more than 12 years of experience in the industry.

Tony’s love for hockey began at the age of eight and grew into an accomplished playing career filled with unforgettable moments—from competing in the Quebec International Peewee Hockey Tournament semifinals to skating in the U16 AAA National Championship Finals. A standout at Winchester High School, Tony played four varsity seasons, earning three Middlesex League All-Star selections, serving as a two-year team captain, and helping lead the program to Division 1 State Championships in 1998 and 2000.

A gifted multi-sport athlete, Tony also excelled in lacrosse, captaining his team as a senior and winning a Division 1 State Championship in 2000, followed by a New England Division 1 Championship at Deerfield Academy in 2002. He concluded his hockey playing career in the junior ranks with the Boston Harborwolves (EJHL) in 2003.

With nearly a decade of coaching experience, Tony has coached at every level of the game—from learn-to-play through college hockey. In recent years, he has focused on private and semi-private on-ice skill development while assisting local youth hockey programs. Tony is ecstatic to join the Falcons for their inaugural season, where he is committed to building player confidence, character, and high-level hockey skills in a positive, competitive environment.

2017 Elite

Nolan Boike

Nolan is a resident of Winchester, living with his wife, Andrea, and their four children: Cam, Ella, Beau, and Quinn. He works as an Account Manager in medical device sales for Integra LifeScience.

His passion for hockey began in Arlington, Massachusetts, where he played town hockey and stood out at Arlington High School, earning recognition as a GBL All-Star and Co-Player of the Year. Nolan further developed his skills with the Valley Jr. Warriors in the EJHL and later competed at the University of Maine in Hockey East. He was not only a key player on the Black Bears' nationally ranked hockey team but also a starting pitcher for the Maine Black Bears baseball team, where he helped capture two America East titles and advance to the College World Series Regionals in 2005 and 2006. After his time at Maine, Nolan moved on to play professional hockey in Europe.

For the past four years, Nolan has concentrated on coaching young hockey players, leading mite hockey programs in Winchester and overseeing a development program in Arlington. Coaching his son has deepened his passion for the sport, allowing him to emphasize team-first principles and personal growth. Nolan is excited to join the Jr Falcons organization and is committed to establishing a strong foundation in their inaugural season.

2016 Elite

Brandon Castro

We’re excited to announce Brandon Castro as the Jr. Falcons 2016 Elite Boys Head Coach for the upcoming season! With a playing background rooted in some of New England’s most respected hockey programs, Brandon brings outstanding knowledge, leadership, and energy to the bench.

Brandon developed his game playing AAA hockey with the Rhode Island Saints before advancing to the legendary Mount Saint Charles Academy (Class of 2005), a program renowned for its championship tradition. He continued his prep school career at The Winchendon School, where his leadership earned him the honor of Team Captain. Prior to college, Brandon further honed his skills in the junior ranks with the Tulsa Rampage, then went on to compete at the NCAA Division III level with Westfield State University in the highly competitive MASCAC conference.

Driven by a true passion for both playing and teaching the game, Brandon has spent the past year coaching at the Mite and Squirt levels within the local hockey community. He excels at bridging the gap between foundational skill development and competitive execution, helping players grow technically while fostering a lifelong love for the sport.

Brandon is thrilled to lead the Jr. Falcons 2016 Elite Boys team for the 2026–27 season, and we’re proud to welcome him to the Falcons family.

2015 Elite

Andrew Guard

Andrew Guard is a Philadelphia native with a lifelong passion for hockey. He grew up playing youth hockey with the Philadelphia Little Flyers, highlighted by competing in the prestigious Quebec International Peewee Tournament. Andrew continued his development at Vermont Academy before concluding his playing career at Northeastern University.

Off the ice, Andrew is a seasoned beverage industry entrepreneur with more than 20 years of experience building and scaling consumer brands. He is a co-founder of Culture Pop and Winch & Pulley Beer Co., among other ventures, and currently serves as CEO of Right Coast Brands, a Framingham-based beverage manufacturing and accelerator platform that supports both emerging and established beverage companies.

Andrew lives in Framingham, Massachusetts with his wife, Alexandra, and their two sons, Jack (10) and Henry (5), who both play town hockey. He is proud to coach in the local community, bringing his competitive playing background, leadership experience, and team-first approach to helping young players grow their skills, confidence, and love for the game.

2014 Elite

Sean Losier

Sean has deep roots in Waltham, growing up just a block from the Bentley University Arena and spending over 20 years playing and coaching in Waltham Youth Hockey. A 2002 Waltham High School graduate, Sean was a standout multi-sport athlete, serving as captain in football, hockey, and lacrosse. He earned league all-star honors and was named an All-Scholastic Athlete. Notably, Sean played a key role in Waltham’s appearances in the Division 1 Super Bowl and the 2002 Division 1 Hockey State Championship.

Since returning to his hometown, Sean has been actively involved in Waltham Youth Hockey for over seven years, primarily overseeing the U8 developmental programs. He brings more than a decade of coaching experience, having guided his son and daughter’s U10 and U12 teams. Sean is passionate about teaching hockey and is eager to instill that same love for the game in the 2014 Jr Falcons.

Sean lives in Waltham with his wife, Katlyn, and their two children, all of whom are actively involved in town and club sports including hockey, lacrosse, and soccer.

He is committed to creating a fun, competitive environment where the 2014 boys will be challenged to grow as players, foster lifelong friendships, and deepen their love for the game of hockey.

2013 Elite

Scott Rehlander

Scott brings a deep passion for the game and a modern, intentional approach to coaching in his role as head coach of the Jr. Falcons Elite team. With eight years of experience coaching AAA hockey at both the boys’ and girls’ levels, he is a committed student of the game who recognizes how dramatically hockey has evolved over the past 15 years. He believes young players must be prepared to compete in today’s faster, more intelligent game.

Scott played his youth hockey with Casco Bay Youth Hockey before completing a four-year varsity career at Bishop Fenwick High School in Peabody, Massachusetts. He continues to play today and values staying connected to the game from a player’s perspective. As a coach, he emphasizes purposeful development through game analysis and structured plans that address individual and team needs. Understanding that players learn in different ways, he blends on-ice repetitions with whiteboard teaching and video analysis. A graduate of Framingham State University with a B.S. in Computer Science, Scott brings a strong interest in leveraging technology to enhance learning and player development.

 

U14 Half Season (2012)

Phil Belmont

Coach Phil joins the Junior Falcons bringing an elite development background grounded in high-level playing experience, proven coaching success, and a career defined by leadership and accountability.

A four-year varsity starting goaltender at Marshfield High School, Phil helped lead the Rams to three MIAA State Tournament appearances and earned Atlantic Coast League All-Star honors as a senior. He continued his athletic career at Curry College, where he competed in both hockey and baseball for the Colonels.

Following college, Phil enlisted in the United States Army in response to the September 11th terrorist attacks. He served as a combat medic with the 101st Airborne Division, completing two combat deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. After five years of honorable service, he returned home with a disciplined, detail-oriented mindset that continues to shape his coaching philosophy.

Phil went on to serve as a uniformed police officer and SWAT Team medic in a large municipality. During his law enforcement career, he participated in multiple high-risk operations and was credited with saving the life of a fellow officer. He later transitioned into his current role within the Inspector General community, continuing a career marked by leadership and performance under pressure.

On the ice, Coach Phil has coached athletes at every level from Mites through varsity high school. For the past five seasons, he has volunteered as a varsity high school hockey coach, leading the program’s Department of Goaltending Excellence and working with both boys’ and girls’ teams. Goaltenders developed under his instruction have earned All-Conference honors and Massachusetts State Hockey Coaches Association All-Star selections.

Coach Phil’s recruiting-focused development model is centered on preparing athletes for the demands of high school hockey and beyond. Players are trained in varsity-level structure, habits, and decision-making aligned with current high school trends. The goal is simple and uncompromising: equip every athlete with the tools, confidence, and competitive edge required to earn—and retain—a varsity roster spot upon entering high school.
